Finesse, flowers, photos and a wedding run like clockwork
Published in: The Age Sunday magazine, February 24th 2008 Wedding planners are experts at ensuring that weddings fun like clockwork – rather like a film script. And it takes someone highly organised to ensure that a wedding is hassle-free. Melbourne-based wedding planner Sara Sabey got a taste of event management in London ten years ago when she worked for a branch of the Prince's Trust on an array of royal charity events, which included working with the Prince Wales himself. Back in Melbourne, Sara organised spring carnival marquees, corporate balls, dinner dances and large-scale conferences before turning her hand to wedding planning five years ago. "I organised my own wedding and loved it", says Sara, director of Chameleon Events. "My experience in event management, combined with my passion for people and working with them at such a significant and special time of their lives, attracted me to wedding planning as a profession."
