A more enjoyable day for your and your guests
Published in: Melbourne Bride Magazine, Issue 53 December 2007 Chameleon Events wedding planner Sara Sabey says having your wedding at one venue can not only minimalise stress, it creates a feeling of continuity throughout the day for the bridal party and guests. And it means guests are not left wondering what to do in that ‘gap’ between the ceremony and reception, which can sometimes stretch for hours. “I definitely think there is something extra special about a wedding and reception in one location,” Sara says. “It means the bride and groom have more time to spend with guests, and guests love it if they don’t have to drive between the wedding and reception. “Moving from one location to another can destroy the momentum of the day; having no interruptions means the day flows better.” While you might be running on the adrenaline of the day, your guests will appreciate a break and some light snacks and a couple of glasses of sparkling wine. Sara suggests serving celebratory drinks and nibbles after the ceremony while the bridal party has their photos taken. This not only keeps the guests entertained, it maintains the flow of the day and ensures your guests are looked after.
